The Kettering Open for 2012 accepted three of my paintings and one of them won third prize. It was 'Evening Walk, Dorset' a construction in board painted with oils. A technique which I am developing into a very personal style.
PAINTING FOR NEW YORK
In 2011I had a commission for a prestigious building in the Bronx, New York. which will be a residential home for the homeless. It was a rebuild of a derelict building so I tried to incorporate the idea of the transition from dereliction through building site to new building. I called it 'Building a New Life' They were very pleased with it (after repairing the hole in it made by Fedex !)

2011 has been an eventful and tiring year as President of the Northampton Town & County Art Society
We began with a lecture on T L Shoosmith, our first President by John McGowan who showed us some original work by Shoosmith including some tiny sketchbooks.
We had four exhibitions in the Society during the year and for the first time a joint show with the Northamtonshire Guild of Designer Craftsmen.
The Annual Exhibition was particularly successful with over 200 pieces on show and a good number of Non Members showing with us who subequently will go on to become Members.
LIONS AUCTION DINNER 23rd September 2010
Had a great evening at the dinner/auction. Worried that nobody would want my lion but it went for £1650.00 !!!
Over £68,000.00 raised for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton and the Born Free Foundation.
Virginia McKenna spoke and
Jonty Hearnden took the auction. I wonder what everyone will do with the lions they bought!
